Jen Cohen
Hannah Honeyman: 1922-May 27, 2015
Mrs. Hannah Honeyman, 93, former Detroiter of Sarasota, Fl, died May 27, 2015. Born in Providence, RI, Hannah was a long standing member of NOW, CSW, and other great Women’s Rights organizations. She always stood up for Women’s Rights and Human Rights. Hannah graduated from Wayne State University in 1943, completing studies in Early Elementary Education begun at Rhode Island College of Education in 1939. She returned to WSU graduate school in the 1960’s earning a M.A. in Educational Psychology and worked 20 years in the Southfield MI public schools as a Clinical Psychologist.
Audrey E. Cohen 1933-2013
Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma from Pennsylvania. Born a fraternal twin, Audrey raised 4 children and graduated College at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She was raised by a single Mom. She was a Social Worker for the Elderly and will always be remembered for the great work she did for NOW Sarasota/Manatee; feeding the needy, clothing the poor, and standing up for Women’s Rights.
Ruth Sterner, 1920-2014
Mother of Joanne Sterner. had a stroke Wednesday afternoon on December 17 and died the evening of December 24, 2014. She would have been 95 in May. She was surrounded by her family.
Joyce Raby, 1949 – 2017
Joyce Raby, a long standing member / activist of Sarasota/Manatee NOW chapter has passed. Joyce worked as an advocate against Human Trafficking. She was a teacher, tutor, and a wonderful person. She was a fighter for women’s rights and an advocate against abuse and violence. Joyce had been fighting cancer for a while and she never let it get her down. May she rest in peace.
